Jamtola Sea Beach in Sundarban

This beach is in Cuttack, in the southeast corner of the Sundarbans, around 90 kilometers from Mongla Port. Because of the large number of small and large jama trees in the beach area, it is known as Jamtala Beach. This beach has a wild beauty to it.

Many people know the Sundarbans as the narrow canal running through the dense forest on both sides. Walking forward listening to the chirping of unknown birds with the fear of when the tiger will come, the sight of monkeys, herds of deer and various wild animals coming to drink water is suddenly seen in the deep forest. While going to the trawler or launch, the scene of Shushuk playing is seen. Thus, a large part of the Sundarbans trip is spent in rivers and canals. But many people do not know that there is a beach in this Sundarban.

This beach is breathtakingly gorgeous. To get to the beach, one must travel through lush forests of Sundari, Gewa, Garan, and Keora for almost three kilometers. In addition to mangrove woods, there are a good number of fern plants to be seen along the route to Jamtala Beach. Along the route is an observation tower as well. There are two sections to the beach. One is slightly more open, while the other is bushier. Silt built up in clay. You will witness this beach’s pure beauty as the roots of dead trees were swept away.

In addition to mangrove woodlands, fern thickets must be crossed on the route to Jamtala Beach. The luster of the black sand is what makes this beach special!
